I think it should be out within the next two years. I hope so, as I am thinking of buying.

it will be a never ending wait unless you have an inside road to new developments and releases. just get the D300 and enjoy your photography. the D400 is not worth the wait or worry. |

It will eventually be out yeah... But I doubt it would appear within the next couple of months. Of course, I can be wrong.

if you need the camera, just get it now and start using....
when it was initially launched, the D300 was like $3000 there abouts... now, its about $2000... so its a very good price point. even when the D400 is released, the price that it will command could be too high a price to pay... unless you are willing to fork out more to be an early adopter... true, with the release of the D400, the D300 will drop to go below the current price... but imagine the number of pics you could get in between the point now and that moment... ![]() i hope that answers your question... ![]()

I agree with erictan8888. If you need a camera, just get it now. The price of a new release wouldn't be cheap anyways. The D300 is already so capable that I think I'd take a few years to fully utilize its functions. In my opinion, though I would like the D400, it would not be enough to make me upgrade my D300. =)

Hi, I've gotten D300. Reason, I heard from reliable source it's roughly about 2.8k and out in around Jul. The most impt info is that it's pretty difficult for D300 to drop anymore as the next step for it is to be phased out.
I'm both an early adopter and not now as I bought D60 when it first launch and now D300. Ps: Thanks Karnage, I've gotten it b4 you pm me. ![]() |

With the increasing Yen wonder how Nikon will set the new body price.
As now all lens prices increases alot and body prices remain the same, hope the new body price wont scare us away.

lenses is something that most people will buy only once which is why recommended to get the best once and for all. new camera models will always be sought after. initial launch sure have to pay a premium but after six months, price will drop.

Nikon will satisfy us with a new models when needed, else the current models, some people are still complaining about the price. New models will not solve the latest model problem. ![]() |
