Tampines Forested Area Sunrise 28-03-09

Recce the place last week and seeing the weather so good last night, woke up and went with a couple of butties to this area. We were welcomed by a thick layer of fog in the forest. Cooling and so refreshing, we started to get to business. Here I present to you an less seen sight in SG.

Location is the forested area near the road linking tampines and pasir ris.

For all CSers interested in this location, please refer to the map below.



From Tampines interchange, walk towards the direction of Tampines library, cross the road to sunplaza park and walk along under the mrt track. U will reach a road junction at Tampines Ave 9. Cross the road and walk for another 100meters along the footpath beside Tampines Ave 12. There will be an opening path on the right. The forest area is right inside. (My black marking lines on the map)

Plenty of swallows and spotted some baby eagle hovering and entering their nests last time i went.

A good time to go would be to reach there by 650am to 7am where lighting is ample. The fog will go off at around 745am. Look out for the trees on the left upon entering the path which has plenty of oppurtunities for sunrays bursting through the canopy. The lone and barren trees can be a subject too. A good lens range to bring would be a WA lens (17mm - 24mm for wide shots), need not be too wide, and a telezoom (70-200 etc to zoom into the fog areas like wat lkkang did).

A tripod and a GND filter would be good to have. Hope these clears all interested shooters doubts.
