First off, no you can't put a FourThirds lens on a Canon camera...that goes for ANY lens with electrical contacts.
You also can't use a Canon lens (with electrical contacts) on a FourThirds camera! And it has NOTHING to do with crop factor...in fact, forget all about crop factors...it only comes into play when you use a lens designed for 135 film format (aka 35mm) on a camera with a smaller sensor. For instance, there IS NO CROP FACTOR when you use a FourThirds lens on a FourThirds camera! |

It's the sensor size. 4/3s has a slightly smaller sensor size than the APS-C sensors, thus you get what catchlights said. ![]()

I think the lens will not be able to focus at infinity. The distance from the bayonet to the focal plane is shorter for Olympus compared to Canon. So it'll be physically impossible.

Haha. It's not really a question of IF you can. I think you can put any lens on any camera. The only problem is that most of the Zuiko Digitals are mostly operated via the electronic contacts. That means you can only physically zoom the lens. The focus and aperture settings are adjusted via the camera. So IF you somehow managed to machine up an adapter that put the glass onto your Canon camera, the lens won't be able to focus or stop down. And if you could get it to focus, it'd still exhibit heavy vignetting and won't focus to infinity.
In short...you can, but you certainly won't like the results =p |

Since there are people who managed in converting the electronic for contax lens on ef mount with auto-focus, I suppose its possible for some electronic guru out there who figure out how to convert the electronic.
I will love to try that ever since I had succeeded in soldering a macro extension tube with electronic, anybody out there wanna try exploring into 4/3 electronic? |

there are 4/3 to EOS adapters with or without AF confirm, or EOS to 4/3 adapters as well. meter will work and manual focus only
