Hi,
Seem like there are quite a number of Organizations will be participating in tomorrow Earth Hour. I wonder how Singapore night skyline will look like during the Earth Hour. Since the road lighting won't be off, I don't think there will be a great difference.Anyway, anyone going out to take a few photos of Singapore Earth Hour Skyline?? Have a nice day. |

Good idea! Standby tripid and cable release in the meantime. We have 2 hours (right) to get some unique pictures!

haha...please please please forgive me for being ignorant. But during Earth hour, logically assuming they're switching off all the lights, what photos will be there to take?
Not trying to be a sour grape here, but maybe someone can answer my question: we can all learn something new and interesting. Cause honestly I don't see what's the point of taking pictures of the dark ![]() |

Those who's going to shoot tomorrow might come back with nice photos or none at all. What's the harm of trying since this event only occurs once a year and that is also provided if Singapore will participate again next year.

http://perspectives-nature.blogspot.com/ in photography, you learn to control the lights.....not let the light control you.

hey, i think we should take something that is relevent and unique to earth hour for example, what will happen if the entire blocks is lights off and one unit is deviant. You know, standing out like an eyesore. What if we can see whats inside the household...
haha suggestions only. ![]()

I've got a bigger headache man... I'm working in a hotel and tonight we will be observing earth hour by turning off all our lights and doing manual check in... my task is to take photos during the "blackout" with only candles being my only form of lightsource, can anyone suggest a good way of taking pics for this??
So far I've gotten a few suggestions like shooting with slow shutter speed and shooting from far using flash. I can't use flash up close as it will make it look un natural... i need to get the "dark" feeling but at the same time be able to see the guests faces... Any other suggestions??? |

If you want the "normal" pictures, the only way is to boost up ISO or use big aperture. Or use flash only as fill-in. For some artistic shots, you could put the camera on a tripod, long shutter, and get pictures with motion blur.
