What do you think guys? My opinion: 1. More choice for Nikon DX format users on super wideangle lens. 2. Might be join-designed with Tamron, with higher quality Nikon-made lenses and focusing motor inside 3. Shows commitment from Nikon to their DX format DSLR. 4. Might be a replacement of the 12-24mm f/4G IF-ED AF-S DX or a cheaper, non pro version of it. I definitely waiting for this rumors to become reality. V

This is exciting! Hope the competition between manufacturers will heat up!

I was hoping for constant aperture...but guess that'll bring prices too high.
But anyway, still looking forward to it! and of course, hope it'll be cheap! ![]() If you trace the photos, it comes from a Chinese forum, and seems that it's leaked from someone in Nikon ![]()

Actually don't see THAT great adifference from the 12-24. I guess those who already have the 12-24 won't bother, and those who don't have any, MAY go for this. But if it is a sub-S$500 lens then it would be complementary to the existing range.

Feel f4.5 is still plenty big for wide angles for DOF...

I have no plans of buying another DX lens. But hey, if it's cheap why not.

The design of the "new" lens look so much like the 12-24mm.

Wondering whether this will be better optically compared to the Tokina 11-16mm that I am using already. The Tok is limited in focal length but has the f/2.8 to boot. Worth considering if the price point Nikon asks for is not extravagrant !

And the price might be higher than Tamron 10-24, but still lower than Nikkor 12-24.
