Default Raynox DCR 250 vs MSN 202

Hi guys
i wonder if anyone use a MSN 202 on a 18-70mm kit lens before?
I have tried a 250 on a kit lens loan by Galdor.
250 or 202 which is better?
Thanks.

Depends on the magnification you require. MSN 202 is a +25 diopter filter whereas the DCR250 is just a +8 diopter filter. Also you have to take into consideration the focusing distance - MSN 202 at ard 4cm, DCR250 at ard 12cm.

hmm looks like DCR250 will be a better choice for me.

Anyway that it can fit on a Minolta 50mm f1.7 prime lens?

Just ordered one from Amazon.
Cheaper than buying here.

It can be used with lenses of up to lens diameter 67mm but to be very frank from my experience with the Tamron 17-50 (67mm thread), at 50mm, you're going to get significant vignetting... Even with my 55-250 which is a 58mm thread, I will still get vignetting all the way until ard 70mm but not as serious as with the Tamron.

Best would be to use the DCR250 with a zoom lens.

With your beercan it should be fine but I doubt you will be able to use it past 150mm...

How to show you how it works???

Well, it's a close up filter that you snap on to your lens. Lens diameter must be within 43 to 67mm. Once you snap on you will need to manual adjust your focus on your lens to the min focus distance in order to get max magnificaton. The what you need to do is to move forewards and backwards until the object you are taking comes into focus. Focusing distance is approx 12cm.

Typically Raynox is used with PnS cameras and zoom lenses, macro lenses and prime lenses for DSLRs. With PnS cameras and zoom lenses, the more you zoom the greater the magnification.

Hi, I'm a newbie, but thought I'd share something... I saw the DCR250 sold on Lensmate online shop. Only about 45USD. I think that works out to around S$70 or less. They don't have the MSN202 though.
