#1, dust on mirror WILL NOT affect the photos.
#2, dust is EVERYWHERE, NO WHERE is dust free. so you either learn to live with it or every now and than send your camera to service center. |

Just get one of those Rocket Blowers. It should be powerful enough to blow off any of the dust particles.
Do not ever touch the mirror. Nikon DSLRs AF depend on a tiny slit in the mirror for the focusing. Any extra pressure exerted on your mirror will therefore affect your camera's AF system.

Should be $8 or $10, depending on the size you want...

Definitely Rocket Blower, am using one too.
The air pressure coming out from the nozzle is enough to clear away most dust. Got mine at CP Marina. |

let's not be too anal about dust.
if it doesn't affect your photograph, if it isn't very apparent in the viewfinder, don't bother with it. like one of my teachers used to say: "not itchy, don't scratch" |

One point to note. Never Never use a scotch tape to remove it from the mirror.
