The Epoch Times
That proves my suspicion, that it is associated with Fa Lun Gong. They always distributed free newspapers around MRT stations. Heck, when I visited Europe, some Chinese would ask me if I were from China, and insisted I take a copy of some FaLunGong flyers in written in Chinese, even after I'd explained I was from SGP & not mainland.

BTW Thread starter is a single poster and just registered this month. So just registered to post this.

These people should just have their fight within their home grounds, stop bringing it all over the whole world.

If you like to join the photography competition, good news for you since the deadline is postponed.

Well, for the publication whether which organisation it is associated, you are free to make your own opinions.

I support human rights and freedom anyway. Don't you?

Here's the good news!!

Deadline of the 2009 Epoch Times Photo Competition Postponed

Due to recent technical difficulties with our online submission system, some of our participants failed in their registration and submission of photos. The Organizing Committee of the 2009 Photo Competition has decided to postpone the deadline from March 31, 2009, 23:59 (U.S. Eastern Standard Time) to April 30, 2009, 23:59 (U.S. Eastern Standard Time). We apologize for any inconvenience that our participants have experienced due to this technical situation.

Please refer to the related chapters of the rules of the competition at : http://photocompetition.epochtimes.com/english/ if you have any questions.

could the fotovivo be the later competition that allows previously prize-winning submission? just thinking of other possibilities

that happens quite often.
I've seen a participant's work who won in Nikon International Photog contest last yr submitted to this year's Sony International Photog contest and he won again.
ps. Both do not allow entry that have won in other competition.

isn't that ugly? or is it plain stated but the organiser doesn't care?

I think it's pretty hard to enforce because the organizers can't keep track of all works to ensure they are all original. The onus is on the photographer to have the integrity and send in only original works.

btw this is the one I mentioned earlier:
http://imaging.nikon.com/products/im...ward/a3_04.htm
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/pict...s.html?image=6

I was quite surprised because both are quite high profile competition so to let something like that so obvious to slip is really beyond me. Not sure if anyone notified the organizer about that though.

if the bao dou comes before the winning annoucement should be ok, nikon or sony are just doing competition for advertising and publicity sake. Do you think they'll spend extra resources to verify the winning fotos? i don't think so.

if the submission is not transparent then noone can 'bao dou'.
Most of the competition is behind closed door anyway, except for some which is immediately reflected online in the gallery (like our CS POTY competition).
Anyway I guess they also can't really be bothered, and most of the time the judges' decision is final.
But still, it can be quite ugly to see such happening.
