I started shooting models in studio in raw format with my Oly 510. Noticed that the WB seems a little off when open using CS3. I later try the same raw file using Oly Studio 2 and the skintone/wb look different when open using CS3.
I prefer to work in CS3 as it is more versatile. Someone advised me to convert my raw file in Studio 2 to Tiff and then using CS3 for further PP. Any advice anyone? |

I wouldn't use Photoshop for Raw file processing at all and I don't use it for anything but touch up.
Phase One Capture 4 is my current software but Silkypix, Lightroom, Aperture, and others are available. If you do a search you'll find a few threads on the subject. It's been said that Olympus Studio software does the best work but it's also the slowest and least convenient.

Dedicated RAW developers like Silkypix and Olympus Studio are the best to bring out the colours of your RAW files, and Photoshop is pretty much the platform for you to tweak and manipulate the images, unless of course, you are ok with the CS3 output... not everyone can discern the difference, really... if the world can see colours that well, Olympus will be the biggest camera company in the world like in the medical optics industry.
(Sorry, I am not brand bashing here, but Olympus really captures colours differently). Anyway, experiment and then make comparisons on a big screen/ print out, and you will know what we mean.
