I'm considering getting the LightSphere for Sony Flash HVL-F58AM. On the Gary Fong Website, they do not have this flash listed there for 'compatible' use. Does anyone know if the LightSphere II or LightSphere Universal will fit the flash?
LightSphere has a couple of domes... which will be best for skin-tones? How much is the LightSphere anyway? Thanks! |

Perhaps you can call up CP to check with them.

for your info, i own some diffuser looks like that whale tail, can fit on your f58 but cant use properly as you need to set your flash to facing up and swivel to right & left. the swivel of f58 is unique thats why i cannot. I own f58s and f42 so i just use my f42. but if you take it vertically, think its ok. Best just try first if you willing to buy.

Maybe you can DIY rather then buying it? I think in the future you might take it as useless when you seriously dont need one. It just help to diffuse, yes but you can get just a $7 silicon drawer mat to DIY it. It just cost you 30 cents per lightsphere from the cut off from the big sheet. It works much better than Gary Fong's product actually. But if you're not a DIY person, then, wont stop you from buying. Gary Fong's product is compatible with Sony Flash. Minolta, im not sure.

![]() Btw, i do not know that Lightsphere come with different domes other than the Clear and Cloud version. The Clear dome is use for In-door shoot while the Cloud dome is use for Out-door shoot. As in which is best for skin tones, i have got no answer cos i yet to try mine. However, i feel that using the concept of In-door and Out-door shoot and get the correct dome should be sufficent. Perhaps the many bro & sis around could help to answer ur question? ![]()
