where to do cross processing and what film whould be better

If you want to do cross processing from negative to slide, then I suggest Ruby, as they would be cheaper. If it is the other way round, any film processing shop should be able to do it.

As for the film, since you are doing cross processing, all the original quality (colour reproduction) of the film will be gone. Therefore, any normal film should be good enough. That's how I think.

so lets say i'm using any normal film , can i cross process the film at any film processing shop or is there better places?

the shop i frequent does not do any form of processing, but sends the film out to be processed. check with your neighbourhood shop to see if they offer such services. I do not travel to the city area so that's how i get my films processed.

neighbourhood mini lad only do normal film process and no many min lad want to do X process for customer. even they do only from silde to negative.

ok here's smthg brief rgd cross processing.

ppl dont usually cross process negatives cos the colour shifts are not so wacky, and it contaminates the E6 (slide processing) chemicals.

usually people cross process slide film in C41 (negative processing) chemicals to get unusual colours, aka colour shift or saturation. how it works: basically slides are s'posed to be developed at positives i.e. blue is blue on the developed film. however when you develop the slide in negative chemicals it will emerge as a negative (blue is orange on the developed film) - but there are colour shifts. this is cos of the film base colour. normal negatives have this brownish/orangy film base. however slides are not made with such. hence they have varying colour filmbase when developed in negative chemicals.

e.g. fuji velvia 100f has a greenish film base when processed as neg- gives you magenta/red shift.
agfa precisa Ct 100 has more brownish/orangy film base than normal film - gives you blue shift.
some films like kodak elitechrome extracolour EBX 100 has increased saturation but no significant colour shift.

if you notice the colour 'shift/cast' are the complementary colours of the film base (cos when you scan as neg, the colour reverses).

you can easily remove the colour cast when scanning (but then the fun is gone lah). so the colour shift exists in relation to a typical negative film base colour of brown.

shops that sell slide film:
ruby, cathay photo, tripleD (at burlington square).

all film developing shops can cross process slide film in C41 chemicals. some refuse to do it. some charge extra for it. some charge normal. do a search in clubsnap to find the film shops and their pricing.

velvia 100f, provia 100f (greenish), agfa precisa ct, kodak ektachrome, kodak elitechrome. it's just to play arnd lah. not v cheap though, prices range from sgd6-13 depending on film. see if you can find anyone selling old film maybe can get cheaper. try searching clubsnap or lomotion.

sorry but i'm still quite a noob , are all those films 35mm films ? and which are thosee which i can get for around $6 ?

Yea. For most of the film, you can either find them in 35mm or 120. You can try the BNS section or shops like Triple D for film; expired film tend to be cheaper.

which is the cheapest kind of slide film ?

#1, film is a general term, b&w negative, color negative and color slide (color positive) all are call film, and but film is not just only b&w negative or color negative or color slide.

#2, no lab willing to take cross processing for negative, they will not want to waste the whole lot of E6 chimerical, spending many man hours clearing the machine for just processing a roll of negative.
