I realise my S5 Pro disables 3D Matrix Metering when I switch to lenses that does not have AiS chip built in. Is this common? Or is this just a default setting of the S5 Pro? From my understanding, my Nikon cameras does not change it's 3D matrix with I mount a lens+adapter that does not have AiS built in.
Anyone has encountered such experience? |

AIS chip? is there such a thing? AIS...ain't dat for the old manual non-AF nikon F-mount lenses?
![]() IIRC, 3DM only works for AF/AFD/AFS lenses? everything else you have to switch to use the centre or spot metering? ![]()

if i remember correctly, you still can use matrix metering if you set the focal length and aperture of the manual lens in camera

You can use center-weighted and spot metering only for non-Ai lenses.
