TCW - Getting Used Body/Lens, Any Experience?

Hi All

Need some advice....

Have seen some reasonably priced lens/body from TCW. Was thinking of getting from them but am not sure if such items are ok. I know we can try first but i have also heard rumours that some used bodies are from hkg where the parts have been cannibalised and that is my concern.

Anyone has bought from TCW in particular? Can share any good or bad experiences?

buying used stuff from TCW is just like buying from CS... caveat emptor and test like hell.

my experience with them is a mixed bag. so far, i've to admit sometimes TCW do have really odd-ball rare used lens on sale dat you dun find it often in CS. but u really need to test. once, i've gotten my sigma 100-300/f4 from them. works fine. another time, they tried to sell me a fungus infested nikon 105 macro... and insist dat there's no fungus... go figure.

hmm.....that makes it worse with buying body since there is soooooooo many things to test! Thanks for the info

Like what nightwolf stated, make sure to check thoroughly and test the items before purchase.
Be it buying used from shops on BnS section.
This also applys to NEW items, some people thought new means confirm okie, that's why they got a lemon.
