Price of SB600 at IT show

Hi all, just came back from IT show today, and this guy at the Nikon booth quoted me $299 for the speedlite!!! Now I regretted not getting it then and there.

Is this the "correct" price? As far as i know, the current market price in outside shops is around $320 am I right?
Thinking of whether I should go down tomorrow and get it if it's still the same price.
But I think it definitely wont be the same liao....

$299 is definitely a good price for the SB600.
CP quoted me $399 last week.
Currently market price is around $330 and above.

It's given straight away.
Before I asked this guy, i asked another person and seems like he doesn't know anything about his stuff (u all know how part-timers are) and he gave me 420!!

So I cant really believe my ears when i heard 299...

Don't think i heard wrongly cos I repeated and confirmed with the guy. Or perhaps he heard me say SB400

Well...you can't really trust the staff there. The noise is too loud, too many people, and too many part-timers but I'm sure this guy is no part-timer

I think you should ask again if the price includes GST or any other charges like credit card charges. I had a bad encounter when I ask about the 70-200 2.8 no one knows how much finally a young chap in black quoted me $3200.I said $3200? and he said yah this is a good lens you know its 70-200 2.8 only pro use it .I ask again are you sure it is $3200 he said yes.Not satisfied I ask another man in black and he quoted $2750 I asked again he confirmed the price ,when I went back to the first guy he said that is before gst and credit charges .Do the math $2750 +7%.So my advice is dont be too happy .I wish you luck bro .I hope it is really $299 with no xtra charges.

Called up AP & CP today. Prices quoted to me over the phone was in the $390 region. Gimme a description of the sales chap u spoke to ! I wanna go there tomo ! LOL !

$2750 + 7% is not even close to $3000
I guess they really need to be more aware of what they're doing...

But thanks for the advice. I thought of GST too. Which means that $299 will come up to around $320, which i think should still be ok.

Knowing sales people, that's a way to lure customers towards a purchase as well. They tell you the attractive price, and then say "oh plus GST that would be....". Hope I am wrong in this case.
