Hi folks,
Just recently got my S5pro after much contemplation, and have some queries about the film simulation modes. Specifically, its about the DR settings. Noticed that when film simulation is set to anything other than standard, DR cannot be changed. Does this mean that 1) DR is set automatically at 100% whenever film simulation is chosen? 2) DR is set to whatever level (e.g. auto) it was at before film simulation is set? Tried looking through the manual but can't seem to find the answer. Many thks in advance. ![]()

Turn on your camera > press MENU/OK > make sure your Film Simulation Mode is set to 'STD' > scroll to D-Range > set your DR accordingly > go back to Film Simulation > set the film simulation to your preference > press MENU/OK again. Last edited by KopiOkaya; 11th March 2009 at 08:09 AM. |

Is film simulation apply to JPG and RAW files?
Can film simulation be changed in the RAW files during post processing? |

If not wrong, the film simulation mode work for the JPG. This work fine for me most of the time. The high dynamic range is only one of the strong S5pro advantage, the S5pro colour with some nikon lens produced very "sharp" and highly contrast picture.
The raw file is the so-call original copy of what the S5pro sensor had recorded in full complete details. This file format is enable u to perform photoshop magic effect much more easier, and recover any lost details in the highlights & shadows. |

After comparing all the different modes, I find the colours of f1b mode very realistic. Love it!

According to some old birds, F2 is the famous Fuji Velvia film with very good colour esp in green colour. Do some web research u will see some expert view. Any body know if we can "customise" our own colour curve for film stimulation? Pls kindly advice. Thanks
