Hahaha....provide free service and let yourself be know.....even when your service is free, your quality is better then those who are paid.....business will come your way.

But for me....I rather photography stay as a hobby and passion rather then a Job. Making it a Job will kill your passion.

Hmm.. I'm also thinking about this. At least if it's your hobby, you don't have a constraint - you can do it whenever you like.

On the other hand, if you do what you really love for a living, then you can really enjoy your work, and you're happier.

    Hello,

On the contrary, it could be very simple.

    1. Decide which part of the photo industry you would like to be in.
    2. Look into magazines related to your interest.
    3. If you like the images in the magazine, check the byline.
    4. Call the person/photo studio in the byline. Beg, borrow, work for free to get the job.
    5. Stay there for 1 year or more, learn the ropes.
    6. Voila.

    Here is my 2c

Most of it is being honest to yourself and honest to your client.

Now, to start, you need to advertise. Best place to advertise is anywhere that is free. Advertising is always very expensive if it doesn't produce results.

Secondly, love your work and treat it more like a passion than a job. If photography is just purely out there to make money, you will probably end up burned from overworked if you market yourself too low or bored because there isn't much job to do.

With photography, first, you need to be consistent. Once you achieve consistency, you need to always improve it, if you want to stay competitive.

Last but not least, understand which area you want to specialise in or stay general and do many areas. Each has good and bad points.

One thing for sure is never treat photography as $$$ making otherwise, all the fun is gone and it won't last very long. $$$ is not always the motivation factor.

    Good luck with your venture.

    Regards,

    Hart

First job will come when u advertise what u r capable of and someone is willing to pay for it.

The crucial thing is, if u can't produce the consistency that you display, you will have to start all over again.

it is never easy, but worth a try.

Singapore is easier market as compare to Sydney, in my opinion. Of course, has it's challenge by itself.

Be serious about it and you will get the work.

Enjoy your work and job will come.

    All the best.
