I saw two or three shops at the basement of Metro City 美罗城 at 徐汇区, in Sept last year. The prices of lenes were higher. I also went to one shop in Beijing last year, the prices were also higher.

I got a friend who told me about some area in SH. Not specifically for lens or camera body but the accessories such as light stands were much cheaper. Will ask him to share once he is back to SG.

Luxury goods in China are usually 30% more expensive than in Singapore. Possible that you may get cheaper stuff in Hong Kong, but definitely not Shanghai or other parts of China. (I am assuming that you are not buying Chinese-made lenses but those by Japanese makers.)

Do a search in CS. This topic has been bought up many times. There are 2 building in Shanghai dedicated just for photography. One of the building is call Xing Guan She Yin Cheng. Accessories are much cheaper there, as for body and lens should be comparable or cheaper. Not sure after the price hike. Do your homework before going.

Is not any cheaper buying body and lenses in Shanghai. But you may be able to find some affordable made in China accesories such as tripod, ballheads, bags etc.
I bought my Jusino Tripod and Ballhead from Shanghai. Been using it for the past 6 months. Not too bad so far.
