Question Canon Canonet G-III QL Battery Help

I hope this is the right place to post this question. I tried looking around to see if it was answered anywhere else, but I didn't see anything..

Anyways. So a while back I found a Canon Canonet G-III QL that was once my grandmothers. I've really wanted to use it for the longest time but I know that the batteries it uses, mercury battery (PX625), have been discontinued. I was wondering if there are any other type of batteries it can use or am I out of luck?

There are a few options.
Try buying it from unicell in sim lim square the alkaline version (around $2 to 3 if I recall correctly).
Get the Wein cell replacement from ebay. Think there is someone selling Wein cells on CS as well. You need to do a search.
Try to get the 675 hearing aid batteries from NTUC or 7-11, and add a rubber ring around it to mod it to 625.
Lastly I heard that CamX in Peninsular has the real Hg battery which you can try. Hope that helps.

Just to clarify, are you saying that Mustafa sells PX625 batteries?

If so, which part? Sorry, not familiar with the shop. Thanks.

Finally found time to go to Mustafa. FYI, they sell the EPX625, the alkaline replacement for the PX625. It cost $1.20 per piece.

Jon Goodman has supplied a lot of people with the adaptor made to fit the 675 hearing aid battery into the QL17's battery compartment.

I just received mine a few days back. Reliable seller.

Goodman's ring is nice, but kind of expensive. USD$14 a pop?

Actually, all it takes is a dirt-cheap rubber o-ring to adapt the 675 batteries. The o-ring slots over the 675 and reduce the movement of batteries placed inside batt compartments. Works for my Lunasix meter, 60-70s RFs and SLRs.

The o-ring can be found in most hardware shops (the kind that your freelance plumber etc. patronise, not the up-market Home-Fix type); got mine for 30 cents each. Shops in Sim Lim area sells 675 batt at $8 for a pack of 6. In all, very economical for running "vintage" gears
