Is it because the pics are too common already? thats why didn't get any reply/comment?

Hi, first of all I'm a newbie but these are just my 2 cents worth.

IMO, #1 has potential, but there's too much clutter in the bg.

I've seen some good photos of people in skate parks, and I think a higher contrast
will suit these photos better, a slight de-saturation might make it seem more dramatic
I think. Cheers

I'm taking that in the afternoon. I thought there was enough light and didn't use flash. The 2nd pic where the subject is back facing, the distance is too far.

Maybe i can try flash next time. Don't know if the skateboarder will be distracted by that and fall.

Generally donl;t anyhow flash. It's dangerous, but if you speak with some of the better skaters and pre-arrange (can be minutes on the spot) something, at least they know to expect the flash and won't be so affected. Also, avoid direct un-modified flash as it can have a blinding effect.

Flashing without asking is VERY rude.

I think in general the skaters/skateboarders/bikers are OK with flash... I went a few times and made friends with some of them.

I also realized that the photos I shot in the evening/night came out better; less background "noise" and also produce better colours.

some of my recent shots.

I will still visit the place once a while just to watch them. enjoy your shoot at the skatepark.
