The rumour about the price hike had been going on and on ever since before CNY. This weekend kinda cemented the fact that the hike for Canon equipment is indeed here. I for one (with only a kit lense and 50 f1.8) had intentions to get a zoom lense or maybe a better walkabout lense, but looks like I have to shelf my plans for now and wait.
What about the rest of you? |

Was contemplating a longer lens than what I have now.
Think of the bright side, stop buying for a moment, explore more on existing equipments. ![]() With the price hike, I won't be spending more. In fact, I will save cos I will stop buying for now.

Have you ppl realised that the Yen is weakening? I would personally live with what I have and wait for the price to come down. Yen can't stay that strong else it'll bring Japan export to a halt.

They gave you ample warning before the price hike... why didn't you get everything you need then? I just sold off all the lens I don't need, and bought all the ones I need.
Right now, I have: EF 100mm f/2.8 macro EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM EF 70-200 f/4 IS USM So, I'm already happy and don't care about the price hike. |

When they wanted COE, people complain but they still pay.
When they wanted more money for the gantries, people complain but they still pay. Whey they increased the GST to 7%, people complain but they still pay. Few months away, nobody will remember this. Why? Because people are forgetful(and will go with it) about price hikes. Its proven, time and again. |
