I wanna try out DSLR, but I do not understand the lens specs. How many times zoom is this lens? Optical or Digital? |

its a kit lens 18mm captures a wider area, while 55mm zooms into the subject.
we dont care how many times zoom there is, but rather the distance the lens can cover. i tink 700+ is dirt cheap. that said, just go try it.

Similar to those you find on common PNS cameras. To make your life easier on finding how many times zoom a particular lens offers, take the largest value of the lens, divided by the smallest value. For example take reference to a 18-55mm standard kit lens. 55mm is the largest value and 18mm is the smallest value. So take 55/18 = 3.0555....... It's roughly about 3x optical zoom. Hope it helps! Not a bad deal, but please get rid of the 18-55 II and look for a second hand 18-55 IS here, the image quality is far superior and you'll get IS, if you sell and buy here, shouldn't cost you more than an $80 investment overall.

Dirt cheap and most probably getting rid of their old stocks.
