    Default video playback

    hi, what software (freeware) to use for video playback? trying to play DVD movies on laptop with XP OS..

    previously with Apple laptop, apple catered a DVD or VLC decoder until i switch to Window

    You can install K-Lite codec pack or some other free codecs and then play DVDs from Windows Media Player.

    I have been using K-lite for a while now...so far so good.

    you can install VLC into windows, just get the windows version.
