Cool Any FSU Shooters?

We may be at the bottom of the RF barrel (or are we?) amongst the Leicas and Epsons and Bessas of the world, but it would be great to share some of our experiences with our komrades.

My personal journey started with my Nikon FM. Life was good then. The total control of the process, the anticipation of the results, the gnashing of teeth and the occasional euphoria of a picture which is personally satisfying.

When digital came, the allure of instant gratification and new technology took hold of me, and quickly went through the whole rigmarole of digital SLR upgrading.

Until I got sick of the whole digital thing. My photography wasn't giving joy anymore, as I feel I was totally detached from the experience.

That's when I saw an ad for a FED 2, cheap (S$100). What the hey, might as well give it a spin. A couple of rolls later I got the feeling back, and a Zorki 3M quickly joined the stable.

Now I'm content. And all of a sudden, the Survivors song seem to be playing in the background - The Search Is Over. Almost all the lines fit my photo journey

"The search is over, love was right before my eyes."

Now to the pictures:

Here are some from the Zorki:

Will scan some from the FED. All the pics so far are taken with the Jupiter 12, TriX400 pushed to 800.

Seems like your light leak is fixed.

You might want to try someone else to process & scan your pics if you are not doing it by yourself.

thanks for your black silicone. but these pics were taken before the leak. I'm now halfway thru my present roll after fixing the leak. the shutter sounds slightly muted after the fix. hopefully the speed is not affected by the minute silicone I applied.

btw, looking at the dust on my pics, do you think it is the lab or my scanner?

Use the anti static and clean away your glass (if on a flatbed) and your negs. Make sure they are dustless, then run a roll through them to see how it goes.
If it's still like the results you get above, you might consider opening up the scanner to check the innards.

Turn on the dust removal on 8800F to correct that.

I hv difficulties removing dust on my 8800 glass. What is the anti static you are talking about? some kind of tissue? or wet wipes?
