Thats a good shot for #1. May I know which settings you used? Most probably on a tripod right?

Very nice series. The vivo city shot with the water reflection is very nice architectural shot.
You're tempting me and I work near Vivo. ISO 100, 5 sec. OK. set lah Last edited by NorthernLights; 28th February 2009 at 11:51 PM. |

You cant base on his setting, simply because the light available when you shoot is different as what he get. just set iso to 100, put your camera to tripod, Aperture mode, shoot then look at your picture, if the exposure not enough increase your exposure. Slowly increase till what you want. if you cant confirm with your LCD, then take picture from +/-0 EV to +2EV, then go home and check on your computer LCD. some tips for you. 1.Try to shoot before the sky go dark, else the sky doesn't look interesting. 2. Set aperture to F8, this is just a guide line to have slightly sharper image, if your focusing reach infinity F2.8 will also sharp. But of course border will not as sharp as F8. What i trying to say there will be no DOF. Some time i also shoot with F2.8. 3. Use smaller aperture if you want a milky water, what aperture then? just move your aperture and make the exposure time longer .. eg..F8 give you 5 sec. change to F16 maybe 10 sec, the longer the exposure time the milky the water. Btw your home LCD also another problem, it might look underexposed or over or color not accurate, you adjust base on your LCD but what we see is different. Calibrate your monitor also if possible.

Hmmm, notice that most of the time, one other factor is not discussed. May I know if you are using any filters during the shoot? Or purely UV / No Filters? =)
