Named after the manado guide who found it Hence Pontoh. From what i know it's been spotted in Manado/Bunaken/Bangka/Lembeh. Only officially described by scientists recently.

Saw it in raja ampat, people saw it in komodo alor/ambon and wakatobi area.

Yea but the pontohi looks very similar to some of the newly described species and the supposedly new one found in Lembeh the murani pygmy...

![]() It is also distributed all over the celebes sea into Borneo and neighboring islands such as Kakaban, Maratua Atoll (Where I first saw it in 2001) I also found it in PG Anilao and Dauin.
