How is the 85mm f1.2 perform at wide open? Does it prone to CA regardless of the angle/direction of shooting?
Would the 85mm f1.2 at f2 is a lot better than 135mm f2? Is it true that an image quality produce by the 85mm f1.2 is a lot better than 135mm f2 and it can't be reproduce by other lens using Photoshop? What's the advantage of this lens besides the f1.2? Say if I don't really use f1.2 but would like to have a better color saturation, resolution and higher image quality, is it worth getting this lens? |

Go here
http://www.the-digital-picture.com/R...=0&FLI=0&API=3 Not much difference between those 2 at both f/2 honestly. 85 1.2 is never worth it unless you are working for the fashion industry. |

I have both, and they are very different lens....perspective, AF speed, and etc all very different. 85 F1.2II is very prone to CA esp with white and shiny edges.

Agreed with Lightning . I have both lenses, but I tend to use 85mm f1.2 more often for portrait shoot. 135mm f/2 mainly for action and streetwalk.

135L gives more compression than 85L. i.e. the person's face will be more 'flat' looking than usual. 85L will give a less flat face and I think more natural, depending on situation. But usually my subjects prefer a more flat looking face cos they don't want to look round

![]() neighbours next block need 400L/500L ![]() ok back on topic i've used the 85L and i own the 135L. If focus speed is an issue, the 135L focuses faster. if you need the 1.2 bokeh, then get the 85L if you need the compression of the 135L, get it. for sharpness, 135L is awesome wide open.

hahah I think for those who've bought before Canon increase it's price can made a profit fr that.
I shoot mostly potraits. I think I'll go for 85mm f1.2. But if I always use f2-f2.8 would it be overkill to get this lens? |

Like that better save some money and just get the 851.8. AF is at least 2 times faster than the 85L and 3 times lighter. The 85L's magic begins from 1.4-1.2!

Anyone of you use 135mm over the 85mm in actual day weddings?
