I just bought my 50mm f/1.4 yesterday and i was testing the lens out.
I am currently using a 50D and when i choose my focus to be the top left hand corner, the lens has problems focusing when compared with my 24-105. My 24-105 can focus very fast when i choose the focus to be the top left hand corner but not my 50mm f/1.4. Is there any problem with my new 50mm 1.4 lens or is this a norm for this lens? Thanks |

Do you mean AF? If so, eh what do mean focus on the top left hand corner? Is there even anything with contrasts on the top left hand corner for u to focus on?

I set the 50mmf/1.4 lens on Autofocus.
Focus on top left hand corner meaning, i manually set my focal point on my 50D rather than letting my 50d finds its auto focal point. I wanted to take a picture and focus a WHITE soft toy rabbit on the top left hand corner in my composition (the rest of the picture are just pillows), so naturally I would set my focal point on top left hand corner. Distance between my camera and object is about 1.3 metres. But the lens just keeps trying to focus but it can't. Whereas i did the same thing for my 24-105mm lens and it focuses immediatly. So i was just wondering whether this lens has a problem. Thanks for helping! Last edited by augiow; 27th February 2009 at 10:14 AM. |
