Guys,
Bought some clear plastic 120 & 135 film sleeves from Ruby, found they have a LOT of static cling and getting the cut negs into them is a real pain. Are the paper tissue type sleeves better? Went for the more expensive plastic type thinking they might be better... Share your experience please as I want good sleeves to protect the negs over time.

Printfile are the best.
Paper sleeves not good if you intend to do contact printing under an enlarger. |

Same bad experience with the plastic sleeves. I couldn't even get some 35mm pieces in them. I had to shove a ruler in there first, causing scratches. Leave them on the table and they collect dust. Attempts to clean them make things worse by generating static. It brought me to the edge of giving up film totally. I've dumped them and started using the paper sleeves. Next round when I need to order from freestyle photo, I'll order a some of those printfile to try out.

The film sleeves are quite expensive too, 50 cents per piece from Ruby Photo.
![]() I am wondering if there is any cheap alternatives. |

I don't know what qualifies for a good sleeve, but i actually get mine at Daiso. They have sizes for both 120 and 135
Interesting part is, you can slot them in, with a 4R picture slot for every 4 frames distance of 35mm neg. Or the other type that stores 120 is slots all the way.I put them all in a nice ringfile. I guess i might not be the most careful person with storage, but they would remain in there until i decide to rescan.. if at all. It makes for a pretty creative photobook too. Works for me right now, until i collect enough good photos to create a real printed photobook. |

If the plastic sleeves get stuck to your negs, just blow some air into the channel to separate them.

MUJI has this folder that is wide enough for the sleeves.
Thick cardboard cover and 4 ring bind system. I bought it for $5.90 only. |

I have found some binder boxes (totally close on all sides) at a stationary supplier "Kampulan" are the correct size... also provide good dust protection! http://www.kumpulan.com.sg/
