are you wanting comments on the lenses performance or on how you compose your shots?

As the above posted shots are all event shots where I have no control of the subjects.... My guess is.... lens performance would be a better question..

Nice shot.. i very new to photography so cant comment much..but to me the pic look very nice. I was thinking of getting this lens too but currently i using a EF-S17-85mm lens. was also think if i should get the EF-S 55-250mm lens instead.

it looks to me that the user knows his stuff too, and can get the best out of the 18-200

me, my expensive equipment allows me to take sharper crap pictures =P

Hi,
I noticed that you were using Tammy 18-270 rite?
How do you find the difference?
Thanks

Thanks of the comment.. Since you are using a 17-85 getting a 18-200 would only overlap your range... buying a 55-250mm for you would be a cheaper option. But you have to prepare to swap lens...

Thanks... I have been testing this lens for a few time.. It may not be L lens quality but it convenient during event shooting is unmatchable....

Sorry I think you may have mistaken I am not using the Tamron 18-270.... the reason I did not choose that despite the lower cost & additional range is because of it F6.3 at the long zoom end...

I am not certain if Tamron have a 18-170mm but I am sure canon don't have a 18-280mm.... are you refering to my Canon 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS instead?

Nice shots you have

By the way, is it possible to show some 100% crop of the face, w/o PP.. to better judge the quality of the lens?

Great shots Anson!

I have the same lens like yours on my EoS 450D and my shots are crappy... . I'm a newbie in DSLR, which will explain the difference as well... hahaha .

Care to share what ISO speed, settings etc, you used for taking the shots?

NovJoe.

  • Lens F-Number/F-Stop = 5/1 = F5
  • Exposure Program = normal program (2)
  • ISO Speed Ratings = 400
