17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens filter question

Hi,

Can I use a normal B+W UV filter or do I need a SLIM filter to preventing vignetting at 17mm for this lens?

No need. A normal B+W filter will do. I'm using a standard thickness Hoya filter on my 17-40L, and it doesn't vignette.
