hi,
i recently bought a couple of canon lens and just realised i only have a 58 Cir polariser originally used on my sony 707... i have also acquired a P cokin filter set but not the circular polazier yet... is the above a good buy? esp since it can be used on all my newly gotten lens and future possible lens purchase? is it good or bad? also, any idea the price? Thanks |

A good polarizer is one that is 'neutral' or very close to neutral in it's colour shift of objects that aren't directly effected by the polarizing effect of the filter (eg: bricks, concrete etc).
Sadly the Cokin CPL and PL filters aren't neutral, they have quite a distinct colour cast shift that many photographers find objectionable. In the end however I recommend you try before you buy as you may find you can live with the colour shift the Cokin produces, or if you can't then there's no point in purchasing the filter.
