Default A Tribute...

'They Died For All Free Men' - 1939 ~1945

Thru' a window of history...

Called Home to HIM...

Their Sacrifice...

Seems as if I could still hear the trumpets...

They have not been forgotten...

Always Blooming for our Heroes...

Till we meet again...*salute*

thanks for the concern for my equipment (lens). The shot was taken through a designed wall just before the entrance to the rest place of our heroes.

Somthing like this;

Not really, didn't find the mast really an attraction. Anyway, my intent was really to do a tibute for the heroes.

my first suggestion is to remove the mantra you have that for you "composition is always the toughest challenge". Replace it with something more forwarding like "I strive to see and capture the essense".
the second suggestion is to get a digital camera and simply shoot as many shots as you can.
Third look at as many great photos as you can and judge the photos by what you "feel" of them and not what you "think" of them.

cheers!
pygmy

btw I am not an b&w expert.

I was actually looking forward for comments/tips like;Correction to my composition, Which colour filter I should use to enhance the contrast etc

With regards to your suggestions;

1. I'm not good at expressing with English and don't think I should copy and replace mine with yours. Therefore, I'll stick to the current one till I polish up my language. It must have hurt your eyes seeing my 'mantra' (jokingly)

2. Thinking of getting a digital cam/SLR, but I think I better get the basics of exposure/composition right first before making this big step. Besides, a good photo is a good photo, be it using digital or film. I can also shoot a lot of pictures with my F80 right?

3. I looked at photos of others and learned, from those I 'feel' is suberb ,the composition and techniques (if possible). Now that I thought I've learned, I posted my photos here to ask you how you 'feel'?

They are that bad huh? Was point 3 a hint or am I being senitive? *sigh*

I'm still only a new member (based on number of posts)after 1 year cos I dare not comment, I'm still learning and till the day I consider my photos pleasing to most eyes then I'll help others out with advise. I'm still searching hard which form of photography I am interested in and will concentrate on that path....(i.e natue, street, landscape etc). I'm almost 30 yrs old and wondering if I'm an old dog trying to learn new tricks...

I'm so envious/jaws drop whenever I see photos from (to name a few)Streetshooter, iamasaint, erwinx, oeyvind, chngpe01 etc. Striving hard to reach 50% of their standards.
