Default Help on Yashica GSN again

I just got it serviced a few weeks back.

One thing that I noticed is that bulb mode don't seem to be working correctly as the shutter will emit a whining sound at around 10 second mark and close off by itself although I have yet to release the shutter button.

When i tested on Auto mode, the camera has no problem going beyond 10 seconds when it needs the exposure time.

according to the shop i went for the repair, it was due to the 4.5V battery that I was using, a 5.6V one will solve the problem i.e. bulb mode will work as needed.

Anyone has any comments?

I've been using the 6v 4LR44's without any problems as recommended on this site (and was how it came with the camera from the previous owner) -

Maybe using a lower rated battery than the norm (5.6v) does not give the camera enough power to hold the shutter?

I have a friend that uses this setup = Because the batttery chamber is all metal you have to be careful not to short out against the sides. He uses two, CR-123 (3volt batteries), and to keep them centered he uses a short piece of plastic tubing (the chamber is bigger than the batteries). Same battery that is used in Nikon F6.

he said he found this solution on the internet.

Best wishes
