Light leaks are a personal preference thing. If you use black insulating tape to mask all the cracks in the camera chassis (film door mostly) and over the door catches, you should block most leaks. Oh and other source of leaks in when you change film. Be careful to keep the film tight on the roll (unless you want the effect). Lens flare can be controlled with a DIY lens hood to some extent. Polystyrene cup painted black works for me, cut to size. As you read up you will discover the Holga potential, and used correctly it can take shots in the most demanding situations. Plastic bag (2x ziplock type) used to take underwater!!! Have fun!

![]() Understand the blockage of the film door....just one question about this. If you block the film door with black insulating tape, you will still need to open it after a shot so that you will be able to see the numbers on the film rite? After uve attained the number, close it back. Am I seeing it correctly? ![]() Was taught by this bro who sold me the cam to insert a piece of paper at the roll so as to keep it firm...will continue with that. I'll go read up on the lens flare thingy....DIY it soon! ![]() Thks for the tips and pointers bro...

Spray-paint the internals with matte-black acrylic paint as an additional light-leak preventative measure, and modify the aperture to give you two true settings... Take a look... http://goholga.com/archives/category/hacks-mods Yip, make a flap out of insulating tape. Have seen other DIY solutions using Velcro. Up to you how to do it but you do want to confirm the frame number, then cover up again. Trying a pinhole cam mod just now on my Holga... if I have time over the weekend I will post some scanned shots. Enjoy!!!
