Thread: Buying Used Equipment - Tipping Point?

Default Buying Used Equipment - Tipping Point?

Just wondering - when you are contemplating between buying new or used equipment, what percentage of savings over a new one would tip you over to buy used instead of new? For the purposes of this poll, assume that the condition is 9 at minimum, it's a local set with half its warranty to run.

It depends on the type of items, and the conditions..

Condition is a big consideration. But i think the actual selling price in camera shops is one as well. My experience sometimes is that used lenses are sold like 10-15% cheaper than what is normally being sold in shops and without warranty. Sometimes i cannot justify the savings considering that you are not sure how the lenses are handled by the previous owners and i can get brand new with warranty

Actually don't mater to me as long as the deal (whether able to close or not) don't take up much of my time...like all i need is to take a lift down to the meeting place. haha
