Default Macro shots on the way home

Stopped by on the way home for a few shots. Might as well, just nice to drain the batteries in my flash.

Green mantis (some brown liquid covering part of it's eye)

Translucent beetle

Dinosaur

...nah, it's green crested lizard

Where did you shoot them? I think I saw the beetle at LP on sat nite.
Gee, some people have lots of luck finding good subjects!

Thanks, JBK.

Actually I would have liked it better if the catchlight is at the 10 o'clock position. As it is, it looks more like 11 o'clock.

No need to put in alot of effort to find them, they are everywhere

i do agree with it.. it would be nicer in that position..

hahaha.. not for me.. not that lucky to find them.. i can walk round SBG for 1 hour, but cant find anything..

then plus my skills not there.. by the time, i want to shoot.. there it goes.. in the air..

therefore like what i mentioned to you, macro shooting is really a challenge to me, especially standing still there.. getting the right focus.. but of course, i believe the satisfaction that comes along the way is when you see great pics..

Why don't you use onboard flash?

SBG has quite a number of insects to shoot especially dragonflies... You just have to be patient and look carefully. It does help if you have an extra pair of eyes looking for insects with you...

Cos hanging my stofen on the pop-up flash is kind of clumsy
Next trip I will bring my pop-up flash diffuser to try. I actually bought one but so far it's still in the plastic wrapper. LOL!

My friend, search through the threads. I believe there are a few thread where some photog actually shot really nice macro in the toilet. No joke!

DFs! The lilly pond across the Bonsai garden is my fav place for DF shots.

Yes, many DFs there ard the pond area...

But since I got my Raynox DCR250, I've been searching for smaller insects to shoot...

true..been to 2 casual shoots with Parampita.. normally he's the one who pointed out to me where the insects were.. and i will go "where?" "where?" "where?".. luckily he's patient.. if not i think he will be irritated by my "where, where, where"?
