Haha~ thanks bro for the comments.

Technically speaking those shots are from my second SMS Night Macro outing... my first night shoot was a disaster... almost no keepers and even if can keep also cannot see light one.... then went for a second one with much help from sgfreestyler and steve and came up with these shots~ Will be posting more of the SMS night macro shots later...

Glad you liked them~

PS: maybe should change title to "FIRST POSTS" from a Macro Newbie~ instead.

Did you use a diffuser as some of the light is not very even?

Especially for pic 4, you can see the light fall off at the corners of the pic.

I used a diffuser for all my shots~ Erm paiseh.... for the forth shot i cropped to the fly and the flash w/ diffuser was facing directly at the subject, therefore explaining the light falling off at the photo itself. Will take note of the harsh lighting.

hey snapperholic,

keep it up.

i realise that some of the harsh shadow are caused by torchlight shining for the back of the subject. for example #4, i believe someone who is trying to up you to lighten up the insect has cast a shadow in front of the subject.
