Default Fuji S6500FD Brand new, but old model

    Hi Guys

Newbee here using my camera phone for taking photos, and now considering this Fuji old model selling brand new for $419 at Best:

The 2 main reasons for considering it are :
    - 1/1.7" sensor
    - Lens thread to add on lens/filters

    Others being:
    - 28mm Wide angle
    - 300mm manual zoom focus
    - RAW format

The not so good things about it:
    - Old model - 2007
    - xD card only
    - 600g weight
    - AA batteries that add on to the weight, and bringing charger/spare batts along for travel trips

can you please give opinions if i should or should not get this old model compared with the current pns models in the market for about the same price?

I'm not considering dslr yet as i'm not up to that level (hence looking at pns with ability to add on lens to learn with) , and also the need to service the equipment.

    thank you in advance

i used to own this camera until i upgrade to DSLR. Work great for me, especially the video funtion, since it is a manual zoom you can video it with zooming in and out(most of the camera couldn't zoom in and out using video capture)

The other thing that it is train yourself more on photography before you step into the dark side of DSLR photography hahahaha

One more to take note is if not to constraint on budget, you can try fujifilm finepix 100fs also... ... i always like fujifilm product, except they did not have new product in DSLR.

Good cam especially the ISO performance. The pics are usable up to ISO800

Thanks, Monsieur Alphonse (reminds me of the character in allo allo).
I'm more of a video cam user rather than photos, so this will come in handy.
As for the s100fs, sure it is good stuff but guess it is too advance for me, and heavy. i'll take a look at the fuji section on review and opinions of this cam.

    Thanks, Daniel.
Initially was thinking that these ISO are the product standards of the industry.
