Default Phottix Batt Grip for D80/D90?

Hi!

Like to know if any D80/D90 users are using Phottix Batt Grip (MB-D80 equivalent) for your D80/D90?

I got interested in the Phottix for my D90 due to its lower cost. The Phottix cost $120 vs $200+ for the Nikon... almost 100% price premium for the Nikon...

yep its "authentic replica" vs original so quality wise maybe slightly worse but does the Nikon part justify its $80+ price premium?

Like to hav some feedback/comments from users. Many tks!!

the problem isn't with the grip. it will probably work. problem is batteries. for some reason, nikon bodies nowadays dun seem to like 3rd party batteries very much...

I use Phottix Premium grip with 2 original batteries on my D90 and its works perfectly fine. I got it from ebay for less than $110...delivered to ur footstep within a week. I wud say its much solid than the original ones which is so plastic and cost $200+...

really? That's tempting...

I didn't buy an MB-D80 cos i felt, imho, it's build was really cheap

before i got my original grip, i read a lot of complaints about 3rd party grips. one of which is the ultra sensitive or ultra insensitive vertical grip button.

after i used the original grip, i realised that the button is just as sensitive. i can sometimes miss the AF lock when you half press.

build wise, i nvr touched a third party grip before, but i have to say that the original grip STILL looks and feel cheap, fake. but its always on my cam, cos

1. I am lazy to take it out.
2. I really helps me do portrait shots.
