Thread: close up filter

  1. #1

    Default close up filter

I'm new in macro photography and planning to get a close up filter just to play around, any advice which type of close up filter I need to start (e.g. +3 or +4) and which brand is good?

Close up recommended is +4 and above. Seems like Hoya ones are gd enough. I stack 2 pieces of +4 for my 50mm and results are very gd, even with UV filter mounted too.
    Canon EOS 5D, 24-70 f/4 L IS, 50 f/1.2 L, 70-300 f/4-5.6 L IS, 600EX-RT. Sigma 12-24 f/4.5-5.6 EX.

You could try the Raynox DCR250 which is a +8 diopter lens. Sample pic taken this morning at SBG.
