Default A queer Jumper

Shot this very queer jumper.. WIth a large black head and a relatively small body. Its head has a round white patch on it. In a way, its kinda cute. Spider experts are welcome to ID it.

Tack sharp, my friend
Can even see the flash diffuser dome in it's eyes.

Thanks guys. It looks rather different from the fighting spider which is predominantly black..

Anyway, to answer the qn on flash diffuser, I used an envelop below my 580EX secured using a rubber band, with the long side facing outwards to diffuse the flash downwards.
My set up also has a raynox 250

Envelope? No wonder it looks longish. That's creative. Can u post pic of how it looks like?

Hmm jumping spiders can be found rather easily at all nature parks
look on leaves and branches. They have a tendency to run underneath when approached though

Yeah. one prob with the raynox is that you gotta get really close.. and this fellow had jumped onto my lens 3 times!

Additional shot to give a perspective of its size

yea, but it's not so bad with jumpers right? Cos they're really 'friendly' guys Whenever i see one, i'll raise my finger near them and let them jump onto it

Love that last shot too, btw
