Advertisement Category: Want To Sell (WTS)
Equipment Type: Lens Equipment Brand: Tokina (PentaxMount) Equipment Model: Tokina ATX Pro 28 - 70mm /2.6 to 2.8 Price (S$): 250 Description: Got this less than a year ago as a travel lens, but somehow that didn't work out - I still prefer to use my primes in the same range when I do travel. I guess for me once I'm started on primes, there's no turning back - I do find them more fun to use than zooms actually, the fixed focal length actually forces you to be more creative when looking for a good picture. Anyway, this lens is the Tokina ATX Pro series, 28 - 70 mm / 2.6 - 2.8 (though on DSLRs it will only register as 2.8 max aperture constant throughout zoom range). Pentax K mount. Reviews, and an interesting bit of history on how the lens design was originally from Angenieux can be found at Photozone: Tokina AF 28-70mm f/2.8-2.6 AT-X Pro II - Lab Test Report / Review The lens I'm selling is the Pro ATX II, not the inferior SV version. My experience with the lens: a tad soft wide open but still quite usable. The 28mm end performs better than the 70mm end. Wide open, the lens is prone to purple fringing in extreme contrast situations. But bad points aside, the sharpness of the lens is clearly evident by f4 - astoundingly so. Bokeh is smooth and buttery, and the colours are very well rendered. Am letting this go to fund a wide angle on DSLR, which is what I'm lacking. Hence, am willing to trade and top up for a DA 14mm or a sigma 10 - 20. Pls PM for either sale or trade.
