anyone familiar with D90 focusing mode?
there are 2 type of mode that i am puzzled with... 1. AF-A, AF-S, AF-C i know what that A is auto, S is stationary, C is continuous i also tried it out, if i set to S. i focus on an object, camera focus when i point to another object further, it does not re-focus If i set to C, after i focus on an object, i point to another focus which is further it was automatically, refocus. Is this the only difference for the AF mode? In that sense, it is more convenient to just set as AF-A rite? 2. single point, dynamic area, auto area, 3D-tracking single point can choose the auto focus area dynamic - i dun really understand, can't see the difference auto area - focus point selected when half click, then stay that way 3 D tracking - the focus point automatically reselect when the object moves? can anyone enlighten me on the puzzled points?

convenience is subjective to the shooter's own style.
FYI, AF-A basically means a auto switch between AF-S or AF-C, so if you know what you want, no diff using Auto... AF-S isn't Stationary.. its Single Servo, meaning it focuses once an where u half press... AF-C, continuous, will keep focusing when ever half pressed... cant really advise on pt 2 as i dont use that... |

For myself, I'm permanently on AF-A with 3D tracking. If the object moves, it tracks, but if I want a stationary composition, I AF and press AF-L to lock focus and recompose. In that way, I don't ever need to change AF mode and I can capture sudden moving object without the need to switch AF-S to AF-C. |
