no need bracket, extract from RAW file to 3 or 5 file with -1 0 +1 exposure, it will give you same result.

For a given scene it depends on how wide the dynamic range is required.
If u needed abit more, the leeway of a single raw might just work. If you need to expose for the skies and the deep shadows, bracketting gives much more details for less noise. Of course there is the obvious benefits of a single raw processing in a dynamic scene williamchew85, anything more than 3 you have to readjust by bracketting manually. How about bracketing using RAW. 2 steps apart! Like that you have 3 Raw files and can give u 9 good pics of diff exposure!

think TS is referring to in camera HDR via using multiple exposure function.
AFAIK, D90 only able to bracket 3 exposures, either you live with it or upgrade to a better camera body. |

MY suggestion may sound stupid, but if u mount the cam on a tripod, u can manually adjust the exposure after ur bracket shots but must make sure the cam doesn't move...
i.e. after a +1 x3 bracket shooting, change to +2ev and -2ev, in this way u will have 5 pics for ur HDR I think that the if manually tweak the exposure using the base pic, the effect like not as good as getting the cam to actually take pics of diff exposure... ![]()

if you are not referring to this, you can just simply shoot in manual mode, and able shoot as many frame as you like, just only need to change the shutter speed.

Ehh
1) Switch to Multiple Shots 2) Make sure you are shooting Raw 3) Turn on Bracketing command (+-2EV) 4) Hold your hand stead and press the shutter release and hold on for 3 shots 5) You should have 3 pics with RAW at different exposure 6) Go to photoshop and extract the RAW into 3 pics of different exposure (0EV, +2/3EV, -2/3EV). This step actually sound a bit stupid.. I did not actually do step 5 & 6 but it should work bah, I was shooting at Raw + Fine and I manage to recover the overexposed part using my JPEG so I never bother with the RAW. HDR is extremely demanding on my single core PC. |
