Question Finepix 4900, is it good?

Hi, any Finepix 4900 user here? IS this a good digital camera?

How is the shutter speed? Digital camera have a tendency to lag in the shutter speed. Especially in older model.

Asking because have plans to acquire an old 2nd hand unit.

Thanks.

Hmm, not sure about the functions, but are you sure you want to get the 4900? Coz itz a really really old model leh, the grandpa of the S602Z

4900z --> 6900z --> S602z

From what I know, the batt life of the 4900 is quite bad...worsened by the fact that it can't use AA batts. I'd reconsider if I were you, unless the price is reaaaally good.

Somebody posted at Yahoo auction. I think the set must be quite old and is currently bidding at 330. So not sure if it is good.

Hmm...for $160 more you can get a brand new Canon A70 liow...it's 3mp compared to the 4900's 2.1mp. Uses AA batts. Not to mention the new set will come with one-year warranty. I think paying $160 more for the A70 will be more worth it loh...

suggest not to get the 4900 too....

the S602Z is way ahead of the 4900 with much improved focussing and use of cheap and easily available AA batteries.

Points noted, thanks for the advise. Will take a look at A70 now. But is there any good digital camera around budget of 300 ~ 600SGD in the market?

To stick to Fuji, you can try the S5000, the consumer new younger brother to the S602zoom.
