Default CNY in Brunei Ba! 9th Feb

Hi fellow ClubSnappers,
Here's how we celebrated CNY in Brunei.
We went down to a shopping mall and bought a whole lot of Fireworks. *Kaboom!*

The Fireworks were launched from a soccer field which laid in a depress. We stood from a slightly elevated position (about 5m) and watched the magic. Were were a mere 30m away from the launch point. It felt like artillery shelling. *Bam!*

A bit of background on how I shot the photos.
I had to work with the minimum. I didn't have my tripod or remote shutter release with me.

Had to make do with;
1 x Concrete floor to lay camera
1 x Brick to prop up the lens
Shutter on 30 secs due no idea when the FW will fire (camera max 30s)
And my "black card" which was my Oakley sunglasses pouch.

I feel like an @$$ for not bringing my gear, but i kinda enjoyed the "Man vs Wild" style of photography if you get what i mean.

My equipment, a Canon 50D with 17-40mm f4L.
This is my first Fireworks shoot. C&C is welcomed.

Enjoy,
JD
