Thanks. I am new to this too. I thought since today is the full moon, I just gave it a shot.

I heard this term "100% crop" before, but what exactly it means? I was using the 70-300 lens to take this shot at 300mm focal length using my D300 at 14bit raw. The pic was then cropped to the above.

It means the image was cropped and not resized

Tonights sky is so clear compared to last night! There was so much glare from the moon, it was hard to get the right lighting on it. Start a new thread and post your pics

Lol, my pics? Oh, the pics were not taken by me (I'm not a photographer), but by another photographer here. He wanted me to be in the picture together with the moon. The wind was blowing and my hair was flying.

Oh, well i'm sure you'd shine brighter than the moon. Post it anyway

I'll let the photographer know and get him to process the pics. He took so many pics of me today, he's having a hard time right now.

Thanks. I understand now. It was cropped but resize. I see if I can post a 100% cropped version.

Thanks. I heard F8 and that's the aperture I used. For shutter speed, depends. So long the image is not over-exposed. I tried a few and settled for this one (check the exif).

Thank you! I think the one in January was bigger and more interesting. I missed that one.

Hi,
I also took a few shots at the Full Moon using my Canon 450D + EFS 55-250mm during the Penumbral Lunar Eclipse. I discovered the last of the 3 Moon shots I took outside Funan DigitaLife Mall got something interesting in the Moon. Below is the 100% crop of the image with some sharpening and level adjusting:

Not sure what is the black round object, but it look like a balloon to me.

Have a nice day.

weixing, Interesting shot. Balloon is probably the best explanation.
