Default Fuji Warranty Help

Hi dear fuji users,

I just bought a second hand s602z from a fellow clubsnapper. I realised that there are some hot pixels for the CCD which consistently shows up on my pictures even at 1/30s. I'm considering going down to Fuji for a check up and perhaps get them to remap the CCD for me.

Anybody went down to Fuji for any repairs before? I have read on the warranty that I have to produce proof of purchase. For the s602z that I have the warranty is unfilled & unsent. So I'm asking is it possible that I borrow from my friend his s602z purchase receipt (still within 1 yr) for this matter. Will the people at the service centre do something to the receipt, eg. key in the receipt no. into their database or write something onto the receipt, that will make my friend unable to use the same receipt for repairs next time?

I hope my friend can help me on this but do not wish to get him into trouble. Any fellow clubsnappers have any idea?

hahaha.... let mi share my experience here.

I went down to Fuji service center before and the fact is>>
receipt is damn important !!!! no receipt no service....

my warranty card also not sent yet but they never say anything..
they juz ask u to show the receipt...
then also never really look or check carefully and return the receipt to me in 10 sec times...
but i saw the clerk in front key in sometimes but not sure what she key in lor...

hope this would help you..
but seriously the way u planned to do is a bit risky..
should really think twice....

a note on hot pixels: hot pixel reduction only kicks in during manual mode.

digged out my service receipt from Fuji liao..

the important information they need for the service receipt is
1. Body no..(serial no)
2. No.PAC (look at ur warranty then u will know)
3. DOP (they will refer to ur receipt and look for date of purchase)

the receipt no is not written down in the service receipt

P/S: make sure the 1st owner didn't register online the time he/she bought the camera.... if not wait the fuji ppl knows that u are cheating..
not sure what they will do ..... call police?

hope this will help you....

602z user too !!

Thumbs up

Just went down to fuji with my just filled in warranty card and a receipt that states purchase day is end of october last year

And yes, the fuji stuff is quite nice, just took a casual look at the receipt and keyed in the details as you have mentioned. I managed to ask for a repair for the hot pixels and a full check on the cam. The fuji people are quite nice, I told them I need the cam on Friday coz I have a shoot, they are most willing to help me by making mine a urgent job. Kudos to them.

BTW, thanks a lot mpenza and modenaslim for your quick replies, esp modenaslim so taking so effort to dig out your service receipt.

Thanks thanks!
