Red face Misleading "Last Post"

I don't get it. The "Last Post" column shows n minutes for a particular thread but when you go and open the thread, you'll realize the last post was quite sometime ago (i.e. y minutes).

As an example, if you are to go to the Canon forum now, you will find that the "Last Post" column for the thread "40/50D Upgraders to 5D Mk1/2... Please come in" shows:

engmariano

However, if you open that thread up, it shows that engmariano actually posted/replied to the thread 6 hours ago. This isn't the first time I've seen this. It can be quite a waste of time opening up threads thinking there's been an update to it, only to realize the "Last Post" time is outdated.

It's misleading.

:Later,

Well, Cos i think the thread is a Poll... It only happens to threads with Polls..
The "Last Post timing" would indicate to the last time that a poll was casted.. =)

Yup. This is a "feature", not a bug, where the last poll vote updates the Last Post Time and does not reflect the time an actual post was made in the thread.
