Default F200EXR --> New Sensor!

Hi

Check this out!
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0902/09...pixf200exr.asp

i really wonder how it will perform vs F31D? Haha maybe shoot ISO1600 at 6MP?

The MAX apperture size is a disappointment though.

I'm disappointed with the max aperture too. Been waiting for a better than F100fd to upgrade...

Actually the LX3 is quite cool.. Some more can buy an adapter to 52mm and use standard filters.. Can go until 24mm too. I am using a 16mm - 85mm for DSLR and 16mm (24mm) is real cool! I wonder how it measures to LX3..

aperture is 3.3-5.1
while G10 is 2.8-4.5 and LX3 is 2.0-2.8
so will depend on the new EXR sensor to compensate for the slower shutter speed

Look at the official samples:

The image quality and DR are superb!!! Hope there will be S6Pro DSLR using this EXR technology.

F200EXR looks kewl, waiting to see if the EXR tech really measures up or just pure marketing hype. On specs, looks pretty much like F100fd with extremely usable 28-140mm lens. Fuji high ISO 1600 very usable, personally Fuji leads in the high ISO low noise in the compact and prosumer space.

G10 a great cam, more of a prosumer actually; isn't exactly pocket friendly when you are out for the night. A IXUS would be a better comparison in this category

Pana LX3 another great cam but again doesn't fit in the pocket, I hate having a pouch on the waist. Pana FX150 would be a fair comparison but zoom range is only 28-100mm.

i think LX3 is the top dog for P&S or portable DSLR alternative currently.
However, Fuji has accumulated valuable knowledge on colour when it had film biz.
Low noise and dynamic range are really welcome features. Too bad the lens aperture are not as good.
Maybe the form factor is the design concern.
But price and low noise performance are main battleground for P&S enthusiast.

LX3 is a great PnS but I find the focal length a little too short for some shots and also a little bulky (reason for large f stop and protruding lens). I also have LX2 which zoom range 28-112mm is more useful but bulky, Fuji is my choice so I passed the LX2 to a family member.

Lens design limitation, a longer zoom would have a smaller aperature and vice versa, so it's a toss up of focal length or f stop else the lens would be huge

If I were Fujifilm, I will apply this Super CCD EXR technology on the 15mpx sensor and get a very good HDR 8mpx image on it. Then stick it into the D300, if Nikon allows, and get a darn good S6Pro camera.

Nikon should allow that. Because that will give them a good revenue stream from the lenses. Note that most people buy only 1-2 camera bodies and buys about 2-5 lenses minimim. My lenses to body spending is normally about 2:1 or 3:1. So allowing Fujifilm to use the D300 (and charging Fuji for each body sold) would make a lot of sense for Nikon....

Otherwise Fuji should just work with Nikon to license SCCR EXR on future Nikon bodies

After reviewing all the pics, I think it is a 12MP F31d... A bit disappointed actually. But at least this 1 uses an SD card!
